Why Is Dogman Training Important In Brisbane?
As various industries continue to grow in Brisbane, there is an increasing demand for highly trained and accredited dogmen. Dogmen possess in-depth knowledge of the safe and effective movement of large and heavy loads, as well as the maintenance and care of all load-bearing and slinging/ lifting gear. Without these skills, the workplace becomes hazardous, increasing the risk of injury, damage, and even death.
Workplace accidents are often costly and result in hours and even days of downtime as repairs and investigations take place. That is why high-quality training is required to ensure all workers in the dogging industry are confident and competent in their work.
Trained workers with a dogman ticket in Brisbane are crucial and contribute a number of benefits to the workplace, including:
- Proficient workers
- Cleaner operations
- Greater productivity
- Less downtime
- Increased equipment life
- Less property damage
Our nationally recognised dogman course has been created particularly for those who need a working understanding of crane operations – from ensuring that the load is correctly rigged and all lifting points are stable to assisting crane operators to safely transport the load on the worksite. Dogging Licence FAQs
Dogging and rigging are both important roles in the construction and industrial industries, but they differ in their responsibilities and training requirements. Dogging involves the use of slinging techniques and equipment to safely lift and move loads, while rigging involves the assembly, installation, and disassembly of cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment. Dogger work is typically considered a more entry-level position, while rigging requires additional knowledge and training.
Dogging work is considered a high-risk occupation due to the potential for serious injury or death. This is why it is required that workers obtain a high-risk work licence and undergo dogger training to ensure that workers are competent and knowledgeable in the necessary safety procedures and working techniques.
While a dogman qualification and knowledge can last forever, a dogman licence card will need renewal every five years. It is important to note that workers are unable to perform dogging activities without an up-to-date licence.
At HOST Safety and Training, we offer courses for those who are looking to update their knowledge, maintain current safety standards and ensure they remain accredited as a Dogman. Contact us today to find out more about our dogman courses and training.
Our licence to perform dogging course courses cost $1210 (no GST) per person. We also offer customised quotes for group or corporate bookings.
Our dogging courses are delivered over five (5) days, with assessments delivered face-to-face at any of our facilities or onsite.
Upon successful completion of a licence to perform dogging course and its units of competency, participants are awarded a High-Risk Work Licence, as well as a statement of attainment that allows participants to seek employment in the construction industry as a dogger.
