Asbestos-related diseases have killed thousands of Australians with Australia and the UK having the highest rates of asbestos-related death in the world! Asbestos is highly toxic, causing a range of lung diseases that are slow to develop but in many cases deadly. While its use is now completely prohibited, there is a growing need to safely dispose of asbestos and asbestos-containing material (ACM).
This nationally recognised training provides students with the skills and knowledge required to identify confined space hazards, enter a confined space and work safely in accordance with an issued permit, and operate various confined space safety equipment.
The S11 Refresher, which meets Standard 11 requirements, provides industry workers with essential risk assessment and safety skills required to operate safely on mine sites. It ensures knowledge and skills of coal workers are updated to enable them to identify hazards and manage risk in the workplace. The S11 Refresher program explores safety leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills in situations of hazard identification and risk management. The program aims to instil a positive safety culture in all personnel who work in the coal industry.
This comprehensive training program integrates the nationally recognised units PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation, PUASAR025 Undertake confined space rescue, and PUAFIR306 Identify, detect and monitor hazardous materials at an incident. It equips students with the essential skills to safely respond to emergency situations, perform rescue operations in confined spaces, and identify, assess, and monitor hazardous materials to protect themselves, their team, and the wider workplace.
This comprehensive training program integrates the nationally recognised units and PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation, PUASAR032 Undertake vertical rescue, HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support and PUAFIR210 Prevent injury. Providing students with the skills and knowledge to safely plan and perform rescue operations at height or in challenging environments. Through practical exercises and scenario-based training, students learn to use rescue equipment, work effectively in teams, assess risks, and respond confidently to emergencies.
This unit specifies the outcomes required to perform slinging techniques, including the selection and inspection of lifting gear and/or the directing of the crane operator in the movement of the load when the load is out of view of the crane/ operator for licensing purposes.
