Standard 11 Courses are a mining industry safety and induction course for those transitioning to work in the mining industry. As mining operations in Australia revolve around a number of mineral extraction projects, a unified standard is necessary to ensure workplace safety.

The purpose of this recognised and accredited course is to ensure mine workers are adequately trained with essential risk assessment and safety skills required to operate safely on work sites. The program provides workers with core skills of hazard identification and risk control prior to undertaking site-specific inductions.

Mines focus on safety by implementing various risk management processes for on-site activities. Several core units of competency made up the Statement of Attainment for Surface and Underground inductions:

• RIIWHS201D – Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
• RIIERR205D – Apply initial response First Aid
• RIIGOV201D – Comply with site work processes/procedures
• RIIRIS201D – Conduct local risk control
• RIICOM201D – Communicate in the workplace
• RIIERR302E – Respond to local emergencies and incidents

Standard 11 Course Sunshine Coast: To obtain a Standard 11 Generic Induction Licence, you will need to be trained and assessed at a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Australia Law requires all applicants to fulfil the following conditions.

Age: Applicants but be at the age of 18 years old and above before standard 11 course application

English Understanding: Effective communication is vital to absorb information during the training course. The trainee must have a basic knowledge in both verbal and written English as it is required that the standard 11 generic induction trainees understand the training course, which is formatted in English.

Proof of Identity: Must present evidence of identity before getting accepted for training and applying for a standard 11 course.

Unique Student Identifier: All trainees must be in possession of USI- a unique reference number is given to trainees who are learning vocational education training, like forklift driving.
