This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to work within the command, control and coordination structure of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). An ECO’s priority is the safety of facility occupants and visitors during an emergency which means ECO members are responsible for pre-emergency, emergency and post-emergency actions. It includes undertaking pre-emergency planning, taking appropriate actions in an emergency and assisting with post-emergency activities.
This two (2) day course will teach you how to rescue personnel from confined spaces in accordance with WHS Regulations and Australian Standard 2865-2009. Including a breathing apparatus refresher module, participants will understand how to rescue a person from a hazardous atmosphere within a confined space whilst remaining safe.
This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required by occupants to recognise emergencies in a facility, to report emergencies and to take appropriate action during facility emergency situations. It includes preparing for emergency situations, reporting emergencies, responding to emergency warnings and advice, choosing the most appropriate course of action and evacuating from a danger area.
Asbestos-related diseases have killed thousands of Australians with Australia and the UK having the highest rates of asbestos-related death in the world! Asbestos is highly toxic, causing a range of lung diseases that are slow to develop but in many cases deadly. While its use is now completely prohibited, there is a growing need to safely dispose of asbestos and asbestos-containing material (ACM).
This nationally accredited course specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work in Caloundra. The white card unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies as well as correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work in Caloundra.
This advanced training is required for anyone who may be required to control the works in the space via permit issuing, operate gas detectors, or otherwise supervise confined space operations. This course is designed to be completed as a 2nd-day option for advanced confined space workers.
